ABOUT: Sweet Comet is the goodest boy. He has playful energy but is not bouncing off the walls. He's always interested in what his people and canine foster siblings are doing.

Here are notes about him from his foster mom:

- is house trained now, was not house trained when he arrived, as with any dog, expect accidents b/c of the stress of transition to new environment. Even if a dog is house trained in their foster home, we never guarantee he/she won't have accidents in a new environment

- loves everyone, has never met a stranger, loves to meet people and other dogs on our walks, just a super happy guy

- likes to jump up and sit on peoples' laps, super cute

- loves to play with other dogs, his foster siblings won't play with him so he tries to play with neighbor dog through the fence -- will definitely need off-leash playtime with other dogs at least 2-3 x/week. Either dog park, though don't go at peak times to start, ease into it gradually, or play dates w friends' dogs in fenced-in areas. This off-leash dog social time is a must for him

- Fine in the crate, although won't just go in immediately, I have to take a few mins and throw a trail of high value treats to get him to go in. I can push him in if there's no time, but that's not preferable. Will whine a bit when in crate but not too much.

- not a big barker, sometimes he'll bark when he's outside in the yard, if it's late I'll bring him in to not disturb neighbors. Will likely bark more in the beginning of the adjustment period

- he can entertain himself with toys, tossing and squeaking them, loves to take ALL the toys out of the toy basket

- will make kind of a mess if left unattended with all kinds of stuff around, as I have been doing because I have been so sick, but he hasn't destroyed anything. And that's saying a lot because there are at least 25 pairs of shoes he's had access to. He moves them around, and pulled a bit of fuzz off of a boot, but hasn't chewed any up

- for that reason I crate him when I go to work

- he's very athletic and has a great time leaping onto and over my furniture, I think it's hilarious but some people might not 🙂

- super trainable, learned "sit" in about 5 mins. As with any new dog, you'd definitely need to take him to a basic obedience course and I think he'd thrive w/ it

- can jump the shorter baby gates in my house, but has not tried to jump my fence outside

- I do wish I could keep him bc I think w some training he'd be an excellent outside dining companion at restaurants, bring to friends' homes, etc.

At the end of the day, Comet loves belly rubs and cuddles, and always appreciates a good bone to chew on. He has so much love to give and will be very loyal to his future family, whoever those lucky people will be!
