I started my path into Animal Welfare in 2015 as an Animal Control Officer for an open intake shelter & rural locality in south east VA. After 3 years, I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge and worked as a veterinary assistant while I helped kick off my own resource-based animal welfare nonprofit in 2019. In 2020 I was called back to sheltering at one of the largest open intake facilities in Hampton roads VA where I have had a hand in expanding and growing their adoptions, media, community outreach, volunteer and foster programs.
2023 begins a new chapter for myself with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue with the Trails UP Program. I am beyond excited for the opportunity to bring all of my education, ideas, and visions full circle all while saving lives and making some amazing friendships along the way. Like most in this profession I love all pets and currently have a magical crew of furry friends that I have all adopted from shelters and rescues I worked or fostered for.
